Ben's world day 2

Well Ben is now around 56 hours old, its weird to think of measuring someones life in hours. Next it will be days, then weeks, months and it will stay months till at least his second birthday. Cameron and I went to church this morning, as much to keep him busy as to go to work or see people. However, everyone was really nice and we showed the pictures I had printed at the supermarket. Cameron seemed to enjoy telling people about his little brother. After lunch we went into the hospital, I really think Cameron is getting fed up of the journey, but he was pleased to see Tamzin. She was feeding Ben when we arrived but it was a short feed and soon they were able to have a cuddle. Overall, Cameron's behaviour has not been great today but I know he is missing Tamzin, he has never been separated from her for so long and its beginning to show. After our visit this afternoon, he fell asleep in the car and when I brought him upstairs he seemed fine but I closed the curtains and he became very upset, (he likes watching the street lights come on). But when I offered to open the curtains he refused and became even more upset. For him this is classic tiredness/out of sorts behaviour. He asks for something then refuses to take it then throws a fit when you take it away. He gets so upset he does not know what he wants. All we can do is be patient, talk quietly and wait till he calms down, which is usually quite soon.
It's possible we will get a bit more acting up for a few days after Tamzin and Ben come home, but Cameron's good nature always wins through in the end so I think we will be fine.
Anyway, we had tea at Granny's and he is sleeping there tonight, although from reports he was very late settling down, it might mean he will sleep in but there are no guarantees! I had a nice calm visit tonight, I got there at 6.30 and was able to stay till 9. I held Ben for ages, he just curled up on my shoulder and slept. It felt great, I was sorry to put him in his cot in the end. There is a very noisy baby in the next cubicle, I just hope it settles and lets Tamzin get some sleep!
It's a bit weird being in the house on my own but I am looking forward to a bit of a lie in before I head to the hospital, hopefully to bring them home.
I still have not recorded Ben's birth or first day, I will soon.

Welcome to the world Ben

Today, the 28th November 2008, my second son was born, he is really the reason for my starting this blog. I want to somehow mark the occasion ans start to record his life a bit. We already have a son, he is a four years old boy called Cameron. I did not start a blog when he was born, although I am sure blogs were around, I'm not sure why. He has been a constant delight to us since he was born and now that our family has grown to four I want to record our lives a bit. I am sure it will appear mundane except I love being in it.
Ben was born at 2.30pm by c-section due to him being breech presentation. He weighed in a 7lbs 10.5 oz. Much smaller than Cameron who was 9lbs 7oz. He is a beautiful boy, very much similar in looks to Cameron when he was a baby.
Well it's getting late and it's been a long day, I will come back to this big day again as I want to record all of the things that happened.
It feels good to be doing this blog, even though it's really only for me, blogging my thoughts seems more meaningful than say, typing them into a word document.
